Christopher Jenkins very first entered the motor trade in 1966 where he began his journey into the motor industry. Chris started off as an apprentice and soon became a fully fledged motor mechanic. Chris realised very early on that all the private work that was being carried out at his home in Manor House could not carry on, so with a big leap into the unknown he took on his first workshop in Tottenham and so became Chris Jenkins, proprietor.

After a few years it became apparent that this workshop would not cater for the constant flow of cars, so once again Chris decided to take the plunge and take on a full site in Caledonian Road, London N7 where Chris Jenkins Cars were born. Over many years of business at this site, redevelopment was the next big step. After securing Rover franchise status Chris went to work to build the showroom he had always wanted, the mechanical workshop he loved and a bodyshop to complete the fully functional vehicle centre.

After parting with Rover after many years VW / Seat was Chris’s next venture. CJM London was born, and soon became the largest service centre in the South East. At this point his son, Matthew, joined CJM London making it the family run business it is today.

From CJM London head office and service centre Chris went on to aquire sites in Camden Road, Market Road and Pankhurst Road with a staff of over 40 strong professional Technician’s, Body experts and Salesmen as well as the backroom staff the company went from strength to strength.

After many years in the motor industry and being at the top of his game, Chris decided to make the decision to spend more time at his beloved Broxbourne Common and so in 2001 he made one of the toughest decisions of his life to say goodbye to the rat race of London and take some time for himself and his family. With his love for Prestige and Performance vehicles Chris and Matthew decided to set up CJM London from Broxbourne Common creating a unique and personal sales experience which they have enjoyed ever since.
